Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's Yashwantrao Chavan Mahavidhyalaya, Pachwad is established in 1991, in the memory of Yashwantrao Chavan, the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra. This college is in the village – Pachwad, being a Grampanchayat location, having total population 3380. Pachwad is 22 k.m. away from Satara district place, 12k.m. away from Wai tehsil and National Highway NH-4 – Mumbai Bangalore go through Pachwad village. It is a rural, inaccessible and hilly place surrounded by Chandan, Vandan and Vairat forts and range of Sahyadri Mountain. It is located on the bank of Krishna river.
Yashwantrao Chavan Mahavidhyalaya, Pachwad is situated on 3.5 acres of land. The college is committed to cater quality, co-education, educational services to the first generation learners from this rural, hilly and in accessible areas of Wai and Jawali tehsils in Satara district .
This college aims to provide undergraduate level educational facilities i.e. BA and B.Com to the students especially female students from rural areas. Our college is permanently affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur and facilitates to undergraduate courses of higher education in the stream of Arts and Commerce.
It is also recognized by UGC under 2(F) and 12 (B). Besides these college strives to develop as well as sustain the quality of education to serve the students and all stakeholders too, College avails of various Career Oriented Courses, short term courses for all round development of students keeping in view core values of NAAC. The college tries to provide better educational facilities to inculcate moral values, various skills and abilities among the students to develop responsible citizen of tomorrow’s India. Number of increasing female students in the college proves women empowerment and significance of education among female in rural areas in the success of college efforts.
The college has reaccredited with ‘B’ grade by the NAAC in 2011.
